World Cup Fans Face Seven Years In Jail If They Have One Night Stand In Qatar

It’s less than six months until the most controversial World Cup of all time kicks off over in Qatar and fans are already starting to voice their concerns about the fact that the tournament is taking place in a Middle Eastern country with very different laws and traditions to the rest of the world.

Central to this is the fact that alcohol is essentially banned in Qatar unless you’re visiting a five star hotel/club so there aren’t going to be that many places for fans to get wasted – an integral part of the experience for most of them. A police insider has now brought up another issue as well: it’s illegal to have sex outside of marriage in the country.

Here’s what he had to say:

Sex is very much off the menu, unless you are coming as a husband and wife team. There definitely will be no one-night stands at this tournament.

There will be no partying at all really. Everyone needs to keep their heads about them, unless they want to risk being stuck in prison.

There is essentially a sex ban in place at this year’s World Cup for the first time ever. Fans need to be prepared.

The drink and party culture after games, which is the norm in most places, is strictly prohibited.

With very strict and scary consequences if you are caught. There is a feeling this could be a very bad tournament indeed for fans.

That doesn’t sound good on paper does it but I think this always happens before World Cups. Everyone was terrified about heading to Russia back in 2018 because there was a very low minority of hooligans over there and it wasn’t even slightly an issue once everyone arrived.

With that in mind, I kinda feel like if Qatar wants to present itself as a welcoming and successful place to the rest of the world – and it will definitely want to do that – then it’s going to do everything it can to be as accommodating as possible. I imagine that will hopefully come in the form of not throwing loads of people in jail for getting drunk or having sex and also providing enough alcohol for everyone. Fingers crossed.

In any case, what sort of football fans are going to the World Cup with the hope of getting laid? Whilst there are obviously women who like football, watching it is predominately a male past time and I feel like anyone travelling over there is going with the sole intention of watching the games and (hopefully) getting pissed up with their mates? And definitely not trying to shag girls every night? Just doesn’t seem like something that would cross most people’s minds for a holiday like that? Right?

For more of the same, check out these women giving advice on how to get laid on their first date. Might need that info if you’re hoping to get some at the World Cup.
