A transgender woman accused of dumping soiled adult nappies at children’s nurseries around Tyneside has denied the offences in court this week.

Abbie Taylor, who also appeared on the court list as Martin Tarling, was almost brutally misgendered by the judge who asked if “Martin Tarling is now Abbie Taylor” and if her preferred pronouns were she/her.

Nick Lane, defending, confirmed: “She has formally and officially changed her identity.”

Taylor, 45, of Haymarket Walk, South Shields, pleaded not guilty to three counts of dumping bags of soiled nappies at three nurseries. But whether she identifies as the soiled nappy dumper or not isn’t as important as whatever evidence there might be that she’s behind the disturbing act.

Taylor also denied stealing clinical waste bags from one of the businesses and criminal damage to a fire escape and children’s milk bottles. She also pleaded not guilty to breaching a criminal behaviour order imposed by Nottinghamshire Magistrates’ Court in April last year, by being within 10 metres of a nursery without reasonable excuse. Can we check this weirdo’s hard-drive too while we’re at it?

A five-day trial has been scheduled for March 2025, so I’ll guess we’ll revisit the case in due course. Obviously this person is exhibiting behaviour that would indicate they’re a danger to children, so if found guilty, let’s hope the punishment fits the crime and that they’re not then faffing around with whether to send Taylor to a men’s or women’s prison. Keep them away from anyone they could be a threat to, that’s what I say.
