I’ve never really considered the idea that a magician might be assaulted by an audience member because they tried to pull out a trick that was too erotic for them, but that was before I saw magician Ben Muprhy’s TikTok account today.

Murphy was performing a magic show on the Royal Caribbean’s Quantum when he asked for audience participation and grabbed a woman out of the crowd before placing a playing card between her lips. The magician then grabbed it out with his mouth and the woman’s husband clearly didn’t like that, running onto the stage and rugby tackling the guy clean off his feet.

Take a look at the two videos below:

@thebenmurphy_ My assault onboard. Entertainment, comedy, and magic are NOT contact sports. This guest should not have been allowed to enjoy the rest of his cruise. #assault #magician #magic #comedianattacked #violence #cruiseship #cruise #magic #comedian #comedy #domesticviolence #insecure #toxicmasculinity ♬ original sound – The Ben Murphy

Wow. Look at the extreme fear in his eyes as he turns around and sees this guy coming for him and about to smack him. That should definitely tell you that it was real and not part of the show, as if there was any doubt.

I’m not sure what happened to the guy but Ben should definitely press some kind of charges against him because you can’t just go around thumping magicians like that and expect to get away with it. Hopefully his wife leaves him as well because it’s just majorly gross behaviour.

For more of the same, check out this magician convince a guy that he’s full on invisible. Those guys are crazy.
