2. Ice Kid

After being mentored and signed by Wiley to ‘eskibeat’ along with Chipmunk and Little-Dee, Ice kid was the strongest of the 3 lyrically and was destined for success until it all fell apart under the grime entrepreneur.  Just 13 or 14 at the time Ice was spitting some of the hardest bars out even before his voice broke, against MCs often twice his age and was especially impressive in a freestyle setting. Whilst Chipmunk rose to fame and topped the charts, Ice was dropped by Wiley and suffered severe depression, even resorting to self-harm in his late teens as he lamented his lack of success. He has come through with a few offerings recently including the ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ mix-tape in 2012, but paints a broken figure riddled by inner anguish.
