5) Deaths On Both Sides
It’s not long before the killing was eating through both sides. Media groups were quick to paint the rebels as the golden boys doing away with the bad guys. But the truth was that the rebels were massacring innocent Alawites who had nothing to do with the Assad clan. They were killed purely for their religious belief, and religion had not been a part of the initial uprising. It was clear that the war was being perverted from its original aims.
