Death Grips, one of the most experimental, influential and controversial group to come out of the American hip hop scene ever have called it after 5 successful years and 5 successful albums. They released a hand written note via their Facebook page explaining the reasons behind their decision to end their incredible experiment that was Death Grips.

The hand-written note personifies everything about Death Grips, real, raw and to the point. For some this will have come way to prematurely as I’m sure many fans have still not been able to see them live, which is an incredible experience.  I mean they managed to get people in the Boiler Room to dance so if that doesn’t prove what a live act they are nothing will.

MC Ride (Stefan Burnett) and Zach Hill had many projects before Death Grips and I’m sure there will be more to come, so this may be the last of Death Grips, but I’m sure it’s not the end of MC Ride or Zach Hill. Their last album as Death Grips ‘The Powers That B’ is still going to be released later this year via their record company Harvest/Third World Records.
