There’s not a lot out there that’s confirmed right now, but according to numerous sources, rapper Takeoff, who was one third of the group Migos, was shot and killed in Houston early this morning.

Police got a call about a man shot in a bowling alley called ‘810 Billiards & Bowling Houston’, where a large group was playing dice. An altercation broke out and someone opened fire, resulting in Takeoff being shot either in the head or near his head.

The pictures shared by TMZ are pretty gruesome…

Takeoff, AKA Kirshnik Ball, was the nephew of fellow Migos member Quavo, and the youngest member of Migos. The third member, Offset, was his cousin.

The three Atlanta natives exploded onto the scene in 2012 with the smash hit ‘Versace’:

Since then, Migos went on to become one of the biggest names in hip hop. Just look at their top 5 most streamed tracks on Spotify – over half a billion streams on each song:

Unfortunately there was a falling out within the group recently, but Quavo and Takeoff released a music video together just last Monday:

RIP Takeoff. I’m not sure what a multi-millionaire rapper was doing playing dice in a bowling alley in Houston at 2AM, but I guess that goes to show how down to earth and “real” the guy was; a rare trait in other rappers who achieved his sort of success. Thoughts with his friends, family and fans at this time.
