Swansea v Man City

Swansea will be looking for revenge after their opening day fixture in which they played City off the park but somehow came to lose 4-0. The team from South Wales have been the surprise package this season, playing some really smooth attacking football. I’d also like to praise their work in the transfer market where they took advantage of Utrecht’s unearthing of talent Michel Vorm, and persuaded him to move to Wales (Don’t get defensive Swansea fans, every team does it).

Man City, to give them credit, have done ok this season. Only ok. Their squad is worth, if my maths is correct, £800 billion and so should have wrapped up the league in September. They are the team to beat though and with the players they have, if they choke at this stage of the season then they should be lined up in Piccadilly Gardens (Manchester) and have veggies, in various stages of decomposition, thrown at them by Carlos Tevez.

Brendan Rodgers must be seething at Barcelona’s success. Pep has evidently stolen Swansea’s style of ‘tiki-taka’ football and made it better (For all their Messis, Xavis, Iniestas etc. they don’t have a Nathan Dyer and that for me is a Swansea win any day!). Roberto Mancini, a manager far too good for the mad-house that is Man City and who has guided them to the top of the table (and kept them there) must be slightly disconcerted that there still seems to be uncertainty surrounding his job.

My prediction: Swansea 1 : 0 Man City — Swansea are no pushovers especially when playing at home. Just ask Wenger and AVB! Michel Vorm will be in inspired form and Swansea’s wide-men will be a constant threat. I just hope that the referee is wise to that big fouling shithouse Micah Richards.
