Pete Hegseth Quotes Fake Bible Verse From Pulp Fiction At Pentagon Worship Service

It appears that U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth Googled “Bible quote” ahead of a worship service at the Pentagon this week, as he ended up quoting Samuel L. Jackson’s character from Pulp Fiction instead of an actual Bible quote.

In the movie, the character falsely attributes the quote to Ezekiel 25:17 before a killing a small-time criminal who owes his boss money, saying:

“The path of the downed aviator is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of camaraderie and duty, shepherd the lost through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to capture and destroy my brother. And you will know my call sign is Sandy 1 when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”

If Hegseth wasn’t responsible for ordering so much death and destruction, this might actually be funny? I mean, Trump’s AI photo with Jesus, the attack on the Pope for opposing war, and now this? If the Trump administration’s idea of Christianity feels in line with a fake quote written by Quentin Tarantino for Pulp Fiction, maybe they’re not the sort of people Americans need running the country.

Not only is it a fake Bible quote from Pulp Fiction, but the climax of the movie involves Samuel L. Jackson’s character realising that the quote shouldn’t be used to justify violence!

Fortunately for Hegseth, the audience probably weren’t aware it was a fake quote either. Would he bothered either way? Of course not. These people get away with everything.
