Our friends over at Moon and Back Music are putting on their first ever gig next weekend for Bristol based acoustic act Oxygen Thief. The gig is in Manchester at The Garratt on Princess Street next Saturday April 9th and starts at 7:30 and is absolutely free! So there’s no excuse not to show up. Moon and Back will be accepting donations though in order to pay for Oxygen Thief’s petrol to get him to his next show. Give whatever you think is appropriate. It’s also highly likely that there will be an acoustic show/party after the show that you’ll only find out about if you attend.

Oxygen Thief is one man named Barry Dolan. I crashed at his house once when I was on tour with Fake Problems and he made a pretty nice breakfast and had a pretty sweet house. His music is pretty cool too – he’s been described as an acoustic version of Reuben or Biffy Clyro and I can definitely understand the comparisons. Punktastic.com states that ‘an Oxygen Thief set is the raw sound of a man who is being simple yet effective and doing a very good job of it, whilst at the same time still maintaining a high level of entertainment.’ Check out his video below and head down if you fancy it:

Also appearing on the night will be:

?

Our special guests are a local folk-punk duo. You’ve definitely seen them before…just not like this. It’s still up in the air whether they’re playing or not. If they do (and they better), you’ll love it!

Konny – http://www.myspace.com/konnymusic

Konny is best described as a guy making modern music with old school sensibilities. He’ll play some of his original songs and maybe throw an Alkaline Trio cover in for good measure.

The Business Life (Acoustic) – http://www.myspace,com/thebusinesslife

The Business Life are an honest hard working punk band from Liverpool. Playing an acoustic set to help us out. Lovely bastards!
