As far as Netflix original movies go, I think that ‘Extraction’ was definitely one of the most popular when it was released back in 2020, although I think like most people I had forgotten that it had even existed. I think there’s just something about movies being released straight to Netflix that makes them a bit less memorable then if you head out to watch them on the big screen and make a real event of it all.

Anyway, ‘Extraction 2’ hasn’t really had any hype about it yet but expect a bit more to come after the first trailer for the movie dropped today. It basically looks like more of the same with Chris Hemsworth returning as Tyler Rake, who has to bust out the family of a wealthy Georgian gangster from the prison where they’re being held. The Russo brothers also return to produce and write with Sam Hargrave coming back to direct too.

Take a look at the trailer below:

After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held. Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO producing and Joe Russo writing. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-starring.

OK so that isn’t really giving much away but it looks completely badass already with Hemsworth just fighting everyone and beating the crap out of everyone. Especially love it when he’s on fire but that doesn’t stop him from handing out ass whoopings to everyone. Guy just doesn’t care.

Hopefully this one comes out on the big screen too because I think it deserves to be seen up there.  Will find out on June 16th.

For more of the same, check out Chris Hemsworth playing Hulk Hogan in a new biopic. That’s probably going to be pretty sick as well.
