#NekNominate: Are You Stupid Enough?

The game has claimed many lives, such as Stephen Brooks, a 29-year-old from Cardiff and Isaac Richardson from Colchester who was just 20 years old. They both died after downing lethal amounts of alcohol in order to complete their neknomination and Richardson is said to have stated “I want to outdo people; I want to do something that nobody has ever done.” A week previously two young Irish men, Ross Cummins, 22, and Jonny Byrne, 19, also died after drinking copious amounts of spirits.

Surely these wasteful and unnecessary deaths would be enough to halt this cult game. But unfortunately new neknominations are being uploaded every minute with people still being seduced by the pressure of their friends.

Some people have taken their neknominations and turned this wholly negative trend into something positive by performing a random act of kindness. The 20-year-old Adam Davidson from Aberdeen used the money he would have spent on alcohol for his nomination to buy a homeless man lunch. A man in South Africa took a similar approach. These people reinstate a bit of faith in the human race for taking a stand against this ridiculous game.

Here are some examples of turning a random act of stupidity into a random act of kindness:

So, ladies and gents if you are lucky enough to be nominated please kindly tell your nominee you will not be taking part in their childish game and instead send their video to their nan.
