Mayor Mamdani’s Aide Who Says ‘Homeownership Is A Weapon Of White Supremacy’ Starts Crying When Asked About Mum’s $1.4M Mansion

It’s still early days for NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani, but one of the more questionable decisions he’s made thus far is appointing this lady named Cea Weaver as his Executive Director of Housing Justice for All, tasked with protecting tenants’ rights and advancing pro-tenant legislation.

Weaver, 37, believes that white people owning homes is ‘racist’ and ‘a weapon of white supremacy’ [see below], and has previously suggested new legislation that would change the way families ‘own’ homes:

Her point was that families (especially white ones) need a “different relationship to property.”

Essentially: stop thinking of your house as yours, and start thinking of it as something shared. This is the person in charge of housing policy for New York City!

Well, shockingly (or not), it turns out that Cea Weaver’s rule doesn’t apply to her own family, and she was completely unprepared to handle a question about about her mum owning a $1.4 million mansion:

Indeed, Weaver legged it down the street after a Daily Mail reporter confronted her outside her home, then said ‘No’ through tears when asked if she wanted to comment on her professor mother Celia Appleton’s ownership of a $1.4 million property in Nashville, TN.

Now in fairness, Celia Weaver isn’t responsible for what her mum does, but when someone is born into a privilege that 99% of people will never have and then dedicates their life to banning that privilege for everyone else, then it’s just a tad bit irksome and hypocritical.

Besides, if you’re all about “impoverishing the white middle class,” why not start with your mum who paid for you to go to uni and fill your head with this sort of nonsense in the first place? Million dollar houses for me, but not for thee!
