Max Holloway’s Wife Admits She Blanked Him For 5 Years Until She Realised He Was A Big Deal In The UFC

There’s something about podcast mics that makes people say things they probably shouldn’t in front of the world, and UFC fighter Max Holloway’s wife may have just fallen for that trap.

Alessa Quizon told the Brotherlee Time podcast that she had left Holloway on read for 5 years, but then became interested in him after learning he was a big deal in the UFC. Until then she just thought he was some no-name fighter:

Now if I were to try and stick up for Alessa here, it actually sounds like she may have been trying to explain that she WASN’T only interested in him for his fame. Like she didn’t know who he was, so she wasn’t some groupie fan trying to get with the champ. But if that were true… she wouldn’t have ignored him for 5 years while he continually tried to get with her?

Yeah, sorry Alessa, I’m not sure we can back you up on this one. She’s basically admitted that if he was an unknown fighter he wouldn’t have had a chance. Which I guess isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I mean, if you’ve got nothing going for you, then you’re not going to get the girl.

Especially when she’s as well put together as Alessa Quizon, who is attractive and had her own professional career (as a surfer) at the time. Is it really that unreasonable for her to want someome who’s already successful at what he does?

At the end of the day, they’re married with a kid now and Max Holloway just made the easiest payday of his life by having to “fight” Conor McGregor for 20 seconds, so it’s looking rosy for the Holloways, even their coming together may not be everyone’s idea of “true love”.
