Man Blocks 80-Year-Old Woman Trying To Go Up Stairs On Tube Platform, Tells Her: ‘You’ve Got Legs’

A man who refused to move for an 80-year-old woman on a staircase and told her to ‘go around’ uploaded the footage to social media thinking he was in the right – and quickly found that literally nobody agrees.

The incident took place at Harrow & Wealdstone Station in London, where the old dear clearly needed the stability of the hand rail to get herself up the stairs:

Just unbelievable disrespect and ignorance to treat an elderly lady like this and then also stick the footage online to make out like he’s the victim who was standing his ground. Who raised this kid? How would he feel if someone spoke to his grandma like this?

British Transport Police told MailOnline it believes no criminal offence has been committed.

Mark Evers, TfL’s lead on Customer Insight, Strategy and Experience, said: ‘This behaviour is extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable.

‘We expect customers travelling on our network to treat each other with respect at all times.

‘Thankfully, this is not a typical reflection of the millions of customer journeys taking place every day.’

Well yeah, it’s obviously not a crime, but still, unbelievably poor form. It really would have been no trouble for this guy to just move out the way. In fact, it’s basic manners. I guess that’s lacking in some people these days.
