Man, 30, Arrested After Throwing 3-Year-Old Boy Into Crocodile Enclosure At Cambridgeshire Zoo
A 30-year-old man from Norfolk has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a three-year-old boy got thrown into the crocodile enclosure at Johnsons of Old Hurst zoo in Cambridgeshire on Thursday (June 18).
Fortunately, the zoo owner’s wife, Tracey Johnson, jumped into the pit and rescued the child before the crocodiles could get to him.
The toddler is in a critical but stable condition. Police say the suspect was ‘not known to the child’ and detectives from the Major Crime Unit are now investigating.

Det Insp Verity McCann said: “At this stage, we are speaking to people who were at the zoo at the time of this distressing incident to understand more about the circumstances.
“We do not believe the man arrested and the child are known to each other.
“Officers are supporting the boy’s family at hospital, and our thoughts remain with them.”
That’s all the details that are available at time of writing. People are clamouring to find out the ethnic background of the suspect so they can politicise the incident like they do with everything, but also want to know where the boy’s family were at the time and what they were doing.

The story is scarily reminiscent of that freak who threw a French tourist’s 6-year-old son off the 10th floor of the Tate Modern in London, completely at random.
No doubt more information will be available soon but for now, let’s wish a full recovery for the victim and give props to Tracey Johnson for saving his life. Absolute hero.
The zoo’s “Tropical House” enclosure has been closed until further notice.
