Parkour and freerunning might not be as popular as it once was, but people are still out there doing totally ridiculous stunts at the top of super tall buildings and almost dying in heartstopping videos, as the two Instagram posts below us can attest.

The videos come courtesy of a free runner named Sergey Shorokhov, do a bit across a succession of gaps at the top of a 25 storey building. Needless to say, it doesn’t go well and he almost ends up dead, saved only by some luck as his foot snags an electric wire and then his mate manages to haul him up before it snaps.

Really heartstopping stuff (the first video is the incident as it happens, the second one is a nine minute mini documentary about it):

(For licensing or usage, contact [email protected]) Yesterday I was in the arms of death and was born a second time. Got scars on my stomach and fingers. 25 years, 25th floor, 10 seconds over death. An experience that will last a lifetime. Zlat @goldenzadrot saved me. The electric current tried to throw me down but world still need me I feel. My mission isn’t over yet. But I’m glad we met face-to-face, Death. Because happiness in me became much more. Thank you for this experience. Let’s see how the world responds to my madness. 😅😉 • • • #fuckfear #techwear #imnotrisking #freerunning #extreme #adrenaline #parkour #gymnastics #tumbling #ninja #skills #ouch #playground #acrobatics #stunts #stunt #painful #newtick #training #risk #risks #dangerous #tricking #russia #spb #mysticfalls #actioncomedy #fail #painful

Yeah that’s really not so good at all is it? Guy is lucky to be alive but it doesn’t sound like he’s got any plans to stop doing parkour and stupid things like all of that any time soon despite this though. Those guys are mad.

For more of the same, check out this old school parkour from the 1930s. Pretty cool.
