Most people in the world are into burgers, whether they’re made from beef, chicken or mushrooms (if you’re a veggie). But what about a burger made entirely from mosquitos?

Although that might sound hard to stomach, that’s exactly what residents of the surrounding areas of Lake Victoria in Africa eat every single year. During the rainy season, trillions of midges rise from the water and fly in giant swarms.

These swarms are so dense that locals are able to catch vast quantitates, which they mush into patties and fry up as burgers.

OK, so I guess it’s got the same look and taste as black pudding. So what do you reckon, would you eat one of these?

I’d probably give it a go – they’re a healthy source of protein after all. However, you just can’t try and argue that it would be anywhere near as tasty as this smoked whiskey cheeseburger.
