It was only a couple of weeks ago that the chess world was rocked after Hans Niemann was accused of using anal beads to upset world champion Magnus Carlsen and now the same accusations are being reared in the arena of high stakes poker.

You might have seen a clip doing the rounds last week of Robbi Jade Lew making an absolutely ridiculous call with a Jack high after her opponent Garrett Adelstein had raised her all in to the tune of $298,000 on the Hustler Casino livestream, but what happened after that is what has got everyone talking. Even though Adelstein was bluffing and Lew managed to beat him, he couldn’t believe that she had made the call for all her chips with such a terrible hand and proceeded to give her the death stare before confronting her off camera, where she rather suspiciously gave him all the money back that she had won off him.

This raised Adelstein’s suspicions even further and he’s now suggesting that she may have used a ‘hidden device that simply vibrates to indicate you have the best hand’ in order to beat him. Here’s what he had to say, as well as a clip of the original hand and Robbi’s reaction:

Wow. There is a lot going on there isn’t there?

I don’t think I’m experienced enough in the world of poker to comment on this, but I think that Lew is a bit stupid whether she was cheating or not. Ridiculous hand to cheat on as it would be fairly obvious that something was going on, and a stupid call to make for all her chips and that much money if she did know what she was happening as Jack high really isn’t a good hand and is barely ever gonna win in that situation. Not really sure how they’re going to get to the bottom of this and prove it one way or another, but I’m definitely invested in how it pans out.

Who would have thought that anal beads would have such an impact in the world of professional card/board games? What a time to be alive.
