Elon Musk Wants To Fund A $100,000,000 Mel Gibson Adaptation Of The Odyssey

No one is more annoyed about the “woke” casting in The Odyssey than Elon Musk. He was certain it was going to be a flop, but instead it’s doing record-breaking numbers at the box office.

Which means now he’s even more vexed, to the point where he’s willing to stump up $100,000,000 for Mel Gibson to go and make a historically accurate Odyssey…

Aside from that, he’s also declared that his AI platform, Grok Imagine, will create a feature-length adaptation of The Odyssey before the end of the year.

Musk wrote: ‘Before this year ends, Grok Imagine will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer.’

Man, he’s really got a massive vendetta around all this doesn’t he? All because Christopher Nolan cast a black woman to play Helen of Troy and a transgender person to play Sinon. Both of them barely have any screen time in the whole movie!

Musk accused Nolan of chasing awards and having ‘lost his integrity’ and called Elliot Page’s casting in particular ‘twisted’, but none of this has seemed to have had an effect on the film’s success, having opened to rave reviews and earned $264million (£198m) worldwide during its opening weekend, alongside a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Almost perfect, basically.

Can Mel Gibson beat that with an $100 million budget? I’m not sure about the “all dialogue taken straight from the original poem and delivered in Homeric Greek” part. That sounds like a miserable watch, tbh. Although I think what’s truly important to Elon is that there are no non-white people in it.

Somehow I doubt this movie ever transpires and I bet Elon might actually enjoy Nolan’s Odyssey if he gave it a chance. Everyone else seems to think it was pretty damn great.
