Here’s The First Trailer For Ben Affleck And Matt Damon’s Movie About Nike: ‘Air’

This looks like a lot of fun.

I think everyone knows that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were best buddies from Boston who wrote and starred in ‘Good Will Hunting’ and then both went on to have phenomenal Hollywood careers, but have rarely appeared on screen together since then (OK I know they were in ‘The Last Duel’ a couple of years ago, but who actually watched that?), so it’s a big deal when they’re headlining a movie that is essentially the story of how Nike became the biggest sports brand in the world.

‘Air’ tells the tale of how a Nike sports marketing executive named Sonny Vaccaro signed Michael Jordan to the sneaker company and together built one of the most defining legacies in sports history. Aflleck also stars in the movie as well as directing it, with Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, Chris Messina, Marlon Wayans, and Chris Tucker rounding off the cast.

Take a look at the trailer below:

From award-winning director Ben Affleck, AIR reveals the unbelievable game-changing partnership between a then rookie Michael Jordan and Nike’s fledgling basketball division which revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand.

This moving story follows the career-defining gamble of an unconventional team with everything on the line, the uncompromising vision of a mother who knows the worth of her son’s immense talent, and the basketball phenom who would become the greatest of all time.

That actually does look like it’s going to be a lot of fun doesn’t it? Given the track records of everyone involved as well, it’s pretty much certain to be a great feelgood movie.

Can’t wait for the bit at the end where it tells you what everyone did with their lives after the film ended and says something like ‘and as for Michael Jordan, well – you know what happened to him.’ It’s gonna be good I know it.

For more of the same, remember when Nike released self lacing trainers that you could control with a smartphone? What a time that was.
