David Haye Wants ‘Way More Than £10 Million’ As He Confirms He Is Suing ITV Over ‘I’m A Celeb’
David Haye has confirmed the rumours that he’s planning to sue ITV for their deliberate editing on I’m A Celebrity... except he wants ‘way more’ than the reported £10 million.
The boxer, 45, claims ITV’s edits made him look like a villain, a misogynist and a bully, causing irreparable damage to his brand and already costing him major deals; including a potential Netflix show.
Following his time on I’m A Celeb, Haye has been accused of…
- bullying Adam Thomas to the point the actor sought therapy after filming ended.
- fat-shaming Gemma Collins
- ageist and sexist treatment of Beverley Callard
- making misogynistic comments about women, for example, saying pretty girls are “just idiots” and “ugly birds” have better personalities

Addressing his pending lawsuit on Instagram, Haye said: “I’ve been inundated with people wanting a statement in regards to the legal situation with ITV and this defamation case.
“The answer is yes, I am. I’m not sure if you know me that well, but those who do know that I don’t like getting pushed around. I don’t like people taking advantage.
“I’ve had stuff happen in the past, I’ve let certain stuff go, but as I’ve got older, I’m like, ‘nah, you’re taking the p**s’. I’m going to take it as far as it needs to go.”
He added: “Once the tapes have been viewed and the evidence has been presented, they’ll realise that this reality TV might not be that real, maybe it’s manipulated heavily and directed in a certain narrative for a specific reason.”
“I’m looking forward to a judge seeing exactly what went down, so they can make their decision.”
On the damages he’s seeking: “There’s lots of different elements I can’t talk about, but in regards to how much this claim is going to be, I’m hearing this £10 million number banded around.
“The number I’m going to hit them with is way more than that.”

Will be interesting to see how this pans out in court. I wouldn’t expect David Haye to have a leg to stand on because obviously ITV and every other channel and production house is going to edit their reality TV shows to fit the narrative they want. That’s just how television works.
So I’m not sure they’ve done anything illegal there, or at least anything that isn’t covered by the contract Haye will have signed. He may just end up wasting his time and looking even dumber once this is all said and done. For £10 million+ though? It’s probably worth a try.
