Croatia ‘Robbed’ In The Last Minute As New Angle Shows Player Did NOT Touch The Ball
Absolutely brutal VAR call in the last minute of Portugal v Croatia denied the Croats an equaliser to take the game to extra time, allowing Ronaldo and co to advance with a 2-1 win.
Was Croatia’s goal fairly ruled out, though? According to this angle – maybe not…
The Croatian player did NOT touch this ball and the goal should have counted!

Now, in any other competition besides this World Cup that is absolutely NOT offside because the ball appears to have not touched the Croatia player at all before it got to his teammate in front of goal.
However, because of the microchip sensor they’ve put inside the ball, it detects a touch, and so because the Croatia player’s single hair follicle touched the ball, it was offside. It registered as a touch. Rules are rules!
Which is lame, because it could have been an all-time World Cup moment and taken the game to extra time at 2-2, and potentially penalties. But hey – at the end of the day, the ref went by the rules, so nobody can be too mad at him.
Still a heartbreaking moment for Croatia and their fans regardless. Might be a good idea for all the players to go bald next time, just to be sure.
