Belfast Man Who Was Nearly Beheaded Had Been Helping The Man Who Attacked Him Move In Days Before Attack
It’s been revealed that Stephen Ogilvie, the man who was stabbed and nearly beheaded in Belfast on Monday, had been helping the man who attacked him move in as a neighbour just days before the incident occured.
The attacker, identified as 30-year-old Sudanese asylum seeker Hadi Alodid, has been charged with attempted murder, threats to kill, and possession of a bladed article.

Ogilvie, 44, was described by neighbours as a vulnerable, quiet, and well-liked member of the community who has hearing difficulties.
They added that Ogilvie had a “heart of gold” and actively assisted Alodid with moving his belongings into a neighboring residence in the social housing development where he lived just four days earlier.
Fortunately for Ogilvie, a group of locals turned up to save the day, with one man battering Alodie with a hurling stick as others pinned him to the ground and waited for police to turn up.
Despite surviving however, Ogilvie has suffered devastating, life-altering injuries. He lost his left eye, sustained severe damage to his right eye (leaving him at risk of total blindness), and received deep lacerations across his face, neck, and back.
He remains in a serious but stable condition in the hospital.
The attack has sparked intense, violent anti-immigration riots across Belfast in the days since, with even local born and bred Irish families having their homes burned down in the chaos, despite mobs claiming to specifically target immigrant homes.
Through an official statement released by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), Stephen Ogilvie’s family strongly condemned the racist violence, saying:
“We have many migrants who make a deeply valuable contribution to our country. We depend on them to make our country work. We do not want this terrible tragedy to be used to divide people.”
The powers that be better come up with something to both appease the mob and protect local immigrant families, otherwise this carnage looks set to continue.
