This next pic comes from the Russian town of Tver. Tver used to be a thriving provincial capital, but as the USSR crumbled it’s been left to the dogs. New buildings still go up but no one seems to care that much about their quality. This one was built in 2008, so just 6 years ago. I don’t know much about architecture and the building trade, but I’m pretty sure new buildings aren’t meant to shed their skins. It’s a very poor effort indeed.

The next three shots are from a coal mine in Ukraine. I can’t work out whether I find them amusing or not?

They are bleak, yes, but I can’t help smiling, I don’t know why?
