It’s been a couple of weeks since the verdict was delivered in the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial and although Heard has released a couple of statements about it, I don’t think we’ve actually heard her speak about it – until now.

Heard is scheduled to speak in depth about the verdict for the first time in a sit-down interview with ‘Today’s’ Savannah Guthrie, which will air on NBC later this week. They’ve released a promo video for it – because obviously they have – with some pretty damning sound bytes from Heard:

I don’t blame them. I actually understand. He’s a beloved character and people feel they know him. He’s a fantastic actor.

I don’t care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors.

I don’t presume the average person should know those things. And so I don’t take it personally.

But even somebody who is sure I’m deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation.

You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair.

I suppose she has kind of got a point there because everyone in the world seems to absolutely 100% hate her after the events of the trial and it does seem kind of surprising that it’s all one way traffic directed at Heard but I guess that’s what happens when you come up against someone as popular as Depp. I doubt Amber can say anything to change the mind of the collective about her, so not really sure why she’s still trying at this point as it’s just going to lead to more abuse.

She probably won’t even say anything that interesting, but I imagine we’ll all be tuning in anyway. Just what we do at this point.

For more of the same, check out Ricky Gervais’ opinion on the trial. Actually speaks a lot of sense for once.
