We’re into the last week of the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial and for some reason a bunch of celebrities have started weighing in with what they all think about it because that’s exactly what we need right now – more people telling us their opinions on the trial. Definitely not enough people doing that at the moment. Definitely nowhere near enough comments on every article I post about it.

Anyway, to be fair to Ricky Gervais he was asked about the trial when he was speaking to Adam Glyn in New York, so it’s not like he just came out with his opinion because he felt it was necessary for the world to know what he thought about it. And clearly, he doesn’t really want to tell us because he was unusually coy and stuttery when answering:

I stay away from all that, I don’t really look at that celebrity stuff, even though this isn’t celebrity [stuff] is it – but I try not to have it in my head.

I don’t think either of them are going to come out of it as a win because all of your private stuff… I don’t know, I hate having to go through it and it’s even weirder that they televise a court case.

So I don’t really do that stuff.

It kind of makes a lot of sense doesn’t it? Although he does normally chime in on these things, you can kind of understand why he doesn’t want to considering he has somewhat of a friendship with Johnny Depp, but even so he’s probably right with what he’s saying anyway: it is kind of gross that Heard and Depp’s private lives are being put through the grinder on television every day, but unfortunately much like you I can’t actually look away and want to find out as much about them as possible.

It’s just so salacious isn’t it? I guess that’s what society is like these days though and has been for some time though hey? Only one week of it left.

For more of the same, check out what Courtney Love has to say weighing in on the situation. Everyone’s coming out of the woodwork hey?
