You generally think that if people are doing porn and they’re famous, that they’re probably getting paid fairly handsomely for their efforts but it turns out that that isn’t always the case – at least if the video in this article is anything to go by.

Jenni Lee – also known as Stephanie S – was one of the most successful porn stars in the world, but she was discovered living homeless in the tunnels of Los Angeles last month by a film crew. The crew were making a documentary about the sinister 200 mile long tunnel that runs underneath the city where thousands of homeless people have sought refuge after they lost everything in the surface world.

You can see the interview with Lee where she explains her situation below or just read the transcript underneath that instead:

I actually got very famous.

I should still be in the top 100 on some list somewhere.

I used to be so hot.

It’s not as difficult as you might think, everybody’s really respectful.

Everybody’s good to each other, which I don’t think you find much.

I’m happy, I have everything I need here.

I don’t think I would want to leave.

Sure there’s no water.

I like that those hardships build camaraderie.

I feel like you make more genuine friends.

People are more accepting underground.

Not really sure what to make of that. I guess if you’re doing porn there’s some degree of exploitation there however you look at it and it got so bad for Jenni that she no longer wanted to be involved and decided that she would prefer to live in the tunnels. She seems happy, but you’ve gotta wonder if this is really how she wanted her life to turn out or if she’s just so weathered from all her experiences that she’s past the point of caring. Hope she’s OK.
