T) Longest Traffic Jam

Longest Weirdest - China National Highway 110 traffic jam

Us humans are all very different, some people like brussel sprouts, some get off on being dressed up like a big baby, others still like nothing more than a pub brawl. But one thing that binds us all together as humans is our devoted hatred of traffic jams. This one in China is the mother of all traffic jams. The so-called China National Highway 110 traffic jam was a recurring traffic jam that began to form on August 14, 2010, mostly on China National Highway 110. Some people were stuck in it for 5 days. Yup. FIVE DAYS. Some people reported moving just 1 km per day. My brain hurts just thinking about it.

Guess what caused it? Too many cars, road works and lorries carrying coal. Text book.

U) Longest Uvula

Longest Weirdest - Uvula Bifurcated

Longest uvula? Yeah, uvula. That’s right. I was having some trouble with the ‘u’ section. I could have done the longest undersea tunnel, the longest ulcerative colitis flare or the longest umbilical cord. I was wholly uninterested in all of the above. The longest uvula however piqued my interest. If you’re wondering, that’s the dangly bit at the back of your throat.

It doesn’t seem like there’s an actual official record holder so I’ve picked my favourite picture above. It’s not even long, it’s just bifurcated, but who’s counting? Now look at this gross guy below who can pull it right out of his mouth which is totally minging.

Told you.

V) Longest Volvo Bus

A view of what the Curitiba City Hall is calling the world's longest articulated bus in Curitiba

This massive bus was made in 2011 and is now used for public transport in Curitiba, Brazil. It’s a whopping 28 metres in length, 2.6 metres wide and has the capacity of seating 177 passengers. It also runs off biodiesel made from soy beans. Well done Volvo, and well done Brazil.
