Samuel L Jackson Calls Out Argentina For Racism In Viral Post
Most people seem pretty happy about the fact that Argentina lost to Spain in the World Cup final, and it looks like we can add Samuel L Jackson to that list.
The Hollywood legend, 77, had shared a post on Instagram ahead of the Argentina/Spain final urging black people not to cheer for Argentina (complete with meme of his self-loathing Django Unchained character in an Argentina shirt):

The text reads: ‘Dear Black People… Please do not cheer or root for Argentina to win the FIFA World Cup.
‘Argentina has historically been one of, if not the most racist countries in the world.
‘”If you are a Black person cheering for Argentina, this is what you look like to me.”‘
‘We hear you loud and clear.’
Damn, is Argentina’s reputation really that deep in the mud? I know they have some absolute tw@ts (and known racists) in their team, but they also have Lionel Messi – one of the greatest footballers who ever lived. Then again, it hardly helps when there’s a theory going around that FIFA and Gianni Infantino rigged the competition to ensure their golden boy had the best chance at winning the whole thing.
Or when you’ve got a guy with a racist history like Enzo Fernandez celebrating like this in the semi-final…
Or, I suppose, the fact that Argentina was the only team in the World Cup that didn’t have one single black player in its squad. Not that this is indicative of racism, but it’s noteworthy given all the other racism scandals around its football culture and the history of the country.
Well anyway, I guess they’re going to have to clean up their image before the next World Cup, or they won’t have Samuel L Jackson cheering them on.
