Police Release Bodycam Footage Of Three Men Arrested Over £4 Million Crypto Scam

Three men have been jailed for running a £4 million cryptoscam where they impersonated police officers and fleeced victims of their crypto.

Here’s the moment Anthony Ikenwe, 29, Hamza Bashir, 23, and Kevin Nwamma, 25, were busted at their respective addresses in Watford and Essex… the latter whilst he was naked in bed:

Getting bagged with your cheeks out? On camera, no less? That’s a bad start to the day.

What these three would do is basically get their victims’ details from the dark web, and then ring them up pretending to be police officers and claiming their cryptocurrency was at risk and they had to take immediate action.

Seems like the most blatant scam in the world, but a total of eight people fell for it, and the trio managed to trick those people into transferring their digital assets to accounts they believed had been set up by police for protection — but were actually controlled by the fraudsters.

After stealing £4 million, the trio bought cars, splashed the cash in Harrods, and took multiple holidays a year, although if they had any sense they might have just stayed abroad and never come back.

In the end, Anthony Ikenwe and Kevin Nwamma received 6-year sentences, while Hamza Bashir was sentenced to 3 years and 9 months for fraud and money laundering.

The Metropolitan Police has already seized a massive chunk of their assets (including £500,000 hidden inside a safety deposit box in Dubai), and international recovery operations are actively clawing back the rest. Hope it was worth it, lads.
