Man Legally Named Santa Claus Arrested For Trying To Meet 15-Year-Old Boy

A 75-year-old man named Santa Claus has been arrested in New Orleans while trying to meet a 15-year-old boy for sex in an undercover sting.

The suspect, formerly known as George Quigley, had legally changed his name to Santa Claus and literally looks like him too…

Claus initiated a chat with the 15-year-old on Grindr and discussed showering with the teen and engaging in various sex acts, according to NOLA.

Of course, the 15-year-old boy was actually an undercover police detective.

Claus arranged to meet the boy and arrived for their date wearing a red shirt, red jacket and red trousers, while sporting a full on white Santa beard. There’s no way this guy has any friends, right?

Kenner Police said in a statement: “His physical appearance indicates he does take on the persona of the Santa Claus, which is alarming considering he was attempting to have sex with a boy.”

Claus was arrested and booked with computer-aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behaviour with a juvenile. Bad Santa, indeed!

Worryingly, investigators also uncovered images showing the man had worked at some point as a “Santa Claus” in malls and such, though he has no prior criminal convictions under his current or former name.

I guess if you’re going to be a paedophile, one way of going about it is to grow a long white beard and legally change your name to Santa Claus. A little bit on the nose, but still. It does make you wonder how many other men out there have legally changed their names to Santa Claus and how police should probably check their hard-drives. Nobody loves Christmas that much, do they?
