MobLand Producers Trying To ‘Work Things Out’ With Tom Hardy, Hope He Returns For Season 3
It looks like Paramount+ and the producers of MobLand have realised the show would stink without its main protagonist, and are now working to bring Tom Hardy back into the fold.
This comes following reports that the Brit was sacked from the show after annoying producers with his constant tardiness and arrogance and script notes, as well as clashing with Dame Helen Mirren on set.
The general consensus online was that MobLand would be unwatchable without Hardy, and now discussions are underway to resolve the drama and open up the possibility for him to return.
According to Variety, the firing was never ‘final’ and talks to “work things through” are in progress.
Interestingly, Helen Mirren has also shared this olive branch to Tom on her Instagram, writing: ‘Love you now and always helen’
Which is funny because she had nothing to say about it when Tom Hardy was being dragged all over the internet for a week, but the moment she got pulled into the mess herself and called a Zionist in the street, she’s now decided to speak up. Although it is a rather low effort post; her social media person has picked the first image of Tom Hardy that comes up on Google and overlaid it with the blandest platitude ever. How about a photo of them together, if one exists?
Indeed, Paramount shot themselves in the foot by leaking all that stuff about Tom to make him look like the bad guy, but it backfired in their faces massively and they’re now backtracking. A source has even shared that executive producer Guy Ritchie is keen to get Tom involved again:
Sounds like the ball is well and truly in Tom Hardy’s court. From saying he was arrogant, late all the time, refusing to leave his trailer, rubbing everyone up the wrong way and having to fire him, to now claiming they didn’t fire him at all.
Season 2 of Mobland is set to air later this year, with the show not yet officially renewed for a third season. I’ve got a feeling a lot of that might hedge on whether Hardy decides to return or not.
