Tom Hardy ‘Enraged’ Helen Mirren On The Set Of MobLand Before Being Sacked

It looks like we have a little more insight as to why Tom Hardy was fired from MobLand ahead the show’s third season; he upset co-star Dame Helen Mirren.

Despite being the protagonist and central to the entire story, 48-year-old Hardy AKA fixer Harry Da Souza, will not return for season 3.

According to reports, Helen Mirren, 80, who plays Maeve Harrigan on the show, was growing increasingly frustrated with Hardy’s behaviour and the way he “swaggers around like a king.”

Apparently she was particularly annoyed by his habitual lateness and his tendency to play mobile games while on the clock.

Aside from that, Hardy reportedly annoyed producers by trying to rewrite lines and offering unsolicited script notes. He was also reportedly unhappy that the show shifted focus toward Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, and kicked up such a fuss that executive producer Jez Butterworth threatened to quit the project.

To be fair, it’s not difficult to believe – given all the other stories about Hardy acting like a d1ck on the set of his films.

The good news is that Hardy wrapped up filming for season 2, which is expected to premiere on Paramount+ in late 2026, so at least producers now have some time to figure out which direction the show will go in without him.

Will they replace him with Liam Hemsworth or something? Or just write off the character completely? Either way, I’m not sure it’s going to be quite the same. Whatever they come up with better be good if they want MobLand to continue past season 3.
