Nigel Farage Claims £5M Gift He Received From Crypto Billionaire Was A “Reward For Campaigning For Brexit”

Nigel Farage is in hot water over his failure to declare a £5M gift from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne in 2024.

The Reform UK leader’s initial explanation was that the £5M was a “private”, non-political gift meant to keep Farage “safe and secure” by covering lifelong personal security costs.

However, he now claims the payment was a reward for his dedication to pulling the UK out of the European Union and campaigning for Brexit for over 27 years…

… which doesn’t really make sense, because Brexit was delivered in 2020 and the money landed in early 2024, right before he was due to stand as an MP. Convenient timing, changing stories, nothing dodgy going on here at all then.

The updated excuse emerged alongside revelations that Farage purchased a four-bedroom detached home for £1.42 million in cash on 10 May 2024, shortly after receiving the £5 million sum.

A Reform spokesperson called the timing a coincidence, stating the property transaction and proof-of-funds checks were already underway independently before the gift was received. Farage dismissed the reports as “establishment smears.”

Got to love how the interviewer has to keep himself from bursting out laughing after Farage claims he “can’t be bought by anyone.” I mean, this is a guy that will shout out Ian Watkins on Cameo for a bit of change. Of course he’ll do what you tell him for the right price, and especially for £5 million.
