Ex-JPMorgan Banker Pretended Dad Was Dead To Get Bereavement Leave – But He’s Alive & Backing Son Over Allegations

The ex-JPMorgan banker who accused a high-ranking female exec of forcing him to become her official “sex slave” had previously lied to the bank about his dad dying so he could get bereavement leave.

Chirayu Rana, 35, took three months of paid leave, during which he plotted his sexual harassment lawsuit against Lorna Hajdini and his employer JPMorgan.

Well, it turns out that Rana Snr is alive and kicking, and not only that, he also spoke to the New York Post when they reached out to him about the scandal involving his son.

Chaitanya Rana told the outlet: “I don’t know anything about it. He didn’t talk with us or anything. He’s my son. He’s a good guy.”

Welp, you’d think he would at least have given his dad the heads up that a) he’s supposed to be dead and b) he’s got a big time sexual harassment lawsuit going on against one of the biggest banks in the world.

A year on from his leave, after using a chatbot to practice his lawsuit, Rana filed his complaint in New York County Supreme Court under the pseudonym “John Doe,” accusing Hajdini of drugging him with Rohypnol and Viagra, forcing him to suck her toes, threatening his career if he didn’t satisfy her, and coercing him into multiple other degrading sex acts.

However, a thorough investigation by JPMorgan found no evidence to back up his claims, and furthermore, it was revealed Rana never reported to Hajdini during his time with JPMorgan and that the pair were under two different managing directors.

So as things stand, it’s not looking good for Chirayu Rana. I’m not sure what he was thinking filing this lawsuit with no evidence but I guess he was hoping JPMorgan would immediately fold and offer him a settlement to avoid any drama?

For now, Rana’s complaint has been withdrawn for “corrections”, so we’ll see what he comes back with. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a counter-suit on the cards.
