Woman Found Guilty After Unleashing Swarm Of Bees On Police As They Tried To Evict Her
A woman has been found guilty after unleashing a swarm of bees on sheriff’s deputies as they tried to evict her from her home in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.
Rorie Susan Woods, 59, let the hive loose on officers as they tried to serve eviction papers, prompting one officer to yell in terror: “She’s opening the bees!”
Beekeeper Woods had several wood crates filled with bees on the property.

She lifted the lid off a stack of beehives, an act she said in court was both to protect the eviction and to let the insects forage.
Woods then threw on her beekeeper suit to get a second crate of bees, at which point deputies tackled her to the ground and arrested her.
During the struggle however, a few of the boxes toppled over and more of the bees were unleashed, stinging the fvck out of the deputies, including in the head and face of one.

After managing to detain Woods, one officer told her that his colleague was allergic to bee stings.
Woods replied: Oh, you’re allergic?’ Good.’ What a savage!
Woods was found guilty of four counts of simple assault and battery and two counts of reckless assault. She was sentenced earlier in April to six months in jail.
Sadly, it turns out this was a mass casualty event as thousands of bees died during the arrest, with some of the toppled hives crushing the insects. Not to mention – honeybees also die after stinging.

Robert Hoffman, chief deputy of the Civil Process Office, said: ‘Never in all my years of leading the Hampden County Sheriff’s Civil Process Division have I seen something like this.’
The force added: ‘Our deputies face unpredictable and often dangerous situations in the course of their duties.
‘They deserve to do their jobs safely – and today’s verdict reinforces that expectation.’
Fair play to the bees who perished while defending their keeper’s honour. Unfortunately it looks like Woods got evicted in the end but at least she’s got a roof over her head for the next 6 months as potentially the only inmate in the entire country who’s doing time for weaponising bees.
Speedy recovery to the officers, too. Not exactly the sting operation they had in mind. Zing!
