Sister-In-Law Threw Black Paint At Bride Seconds Before Wedding In Revenge Attack
A bride in Maidstone, Kent, had her wedding day completely ruined after her sister-in-law (who was not invited) turned up and drenched her in black paint moments before she was due to tie the knot.
Gemma Monk, 35, was all set to walk down the aisle when she heard her name called. When she turned around, a thick mass of black paint hit her, going all over her £1,800 white gown, her face, and her eyes in front of horrified wedding guests.
The attacker was Antonia Eastwood – the wife of Gemma’s older brother, Ashley (also not invited). Antonia legged it from the venue, Oakwood House, immediately after the attack.

Why did she do it? Well apparently, it was revenge from over a year earlier at Antonia’s own wedding in Dover.
Antonia accused Gemma of trying to trying to ‘trip her up’ during her own walk down the aisle, and there’s been a toxic family feud over it ever since.
Fortunately for Gemma, an usher was able to find a replacement dress after some running around. Unfortunately the dress was too big, but Gemma was determined to proceed with the ceremony anyway.
She married Ken Monk, her partner of 20 years, just two hours after the attack.

Gemma told KentOnline: ‘I did not think twice. I would have walked down the aisle in my knickers with black paint over my face if I had to.’
Which is fair enough – especially as they’d paid £8,000 for the ceremony.
At Maidstone Crown Court, Gemma read a powerful victim impact statement describing how the attack had shattered her mental health and caused her and her new hubby to cancel their honeymoon to the Maldives.
The paint caused more than £5,000 in damage to the registry office and specialist cleaners were unable to save Gemma’s dress, which she had hoped to hand down to her daughter.
Initially, Antonia gave a ‘no comment’ interview to police. However she later admitted that it was a premeditated revenge attack.

Judge Oliver Saxby KC told her: ‘You got it into your head that you wanted to wreck her day. And you did, and it was horrid and nasty and mean.’
Tell her, judge!
Antonia was given a 10-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and a 10-year restraining order preventing contact with the victim. She was also ordered to complete 160 hours of unpaid work and pay £5,000 in compensation – £4k to Gemma and £1k to the venue. Which doesn’t really add up for the venue as the damage she caused cost way more than that, but hey ho.
In court, Gemma refused to accept her sister-in-law’s apology and also described the sentence as ‘too light’. Still, £4k for her trouble is not too shabby.
Gemma and Ken now plan to renew their vows as the date of the original wedding just reminds them of them of the b1tch that threw black paint all over her wedding dress. Clear winner in this family feud, I think.
