Jeremy Corbyn Considering Legal Action Against ‘Have I Got News For You’ Over Kanye West Meme
Have I Got News For You is a show that used to be a countercultural but then became pro-Boris/Blair while still pretending to be left-wing. They’ve especially had it in for Jeremy Corbyn over the years – zeroing in on the idea that he’s an antisemite.
Over on X this week, they’re still beating that dead propaganda horse…
Kanye West has been banned from entering the UK to play Wireless Festival, as it would have been terrible to have a prominent public figure going round Finsbury Park condoning antisemitism pic.twitter.com/ufczi7SIKt

Which prompted this reply from Corbyn himself…
This is disgraceful, baseless and irresponsible. You should delete this immediately.

24 hours later, they still haven’t deleted it. Corbyn has historically taken legal action against other parties for defamatory social media content. For example, in 2021, he received substantial damages and an apology from a Conservative councillor who posted a fake photo of him at a terror attack site. This Kanye meme is a little tame compared to that, but it’s clearly p1ssed the man off.
In November 2020, the BBC defended an episode of Have I Got News For You after comedian Fin Taylor made a joke about bombing Glastonbury to “get rid of” Jeremy Corbyn supporters. The BBC dismissed complaints, stating the comments were clearly intended as satire. Which I think is fair enough, really. The guy was obviously joking.
The question is – would the BBC have taken such a passive view if the joke was made about supporters of Zionist politicians, for example? Who’s to say. Either way I doubt they’ll care too much about the HIGNFY X account bashing Corbyn with the antisemitism stick one more time.
For the time Jeremy Corbyn ‘showed off’ a naked Diane Abbott to impress his political friends, click HERE. Can’t they make fun of him for that instead?
