‘God, You’re Hot’ – Tennessee School Board Member Says To Teenage Student During Board Meeting

A Tennessee school board member is catching some heat this week after telling a teenage student during a public board meeting: “God, you’re hot. Do you know that? Where do you go to school at?”

The comment was made in front of the student’s mum and the entire audience during the meeting…

This creep’s name is Keith Ervin and there are understandably now calls for his resignation.

The Washington County BOE reports that an emergency meeting has been called for Wednesday, April 8, to address the incident. Not sure it’s much of an emergency if the meeting is tomorrow, but OK.

The Board said: “One of our colleagues, Keith Ervin, made a grossly inappropriate comment toward our student Board member. Mr. Ervin has explained that he meant nothing offensive and that we have simply misunderstood his intentions.

“Mr. Ervin knows his own intentions, but the rest of us have to judge his words and his actions. What we saw was shocking. He objectified and diminished a young woman publicly. No explanation can justify that.”

Indeed – what could his ‘intentions’ have been to even remotely justify saying that to a teenage girl? I mean, obviously he thought it was normal because he said it in front of a room full of adults that included the girl’s mum, but it would be interesting to hear him try to explain it for himself.

Even saying that to an adult in the middle of a board meeting would be massively unprofessional and inappropriate. The fact it’s a kid… yikes. Someone might want to check this guy’s hard-drive. Pretty sure he’s attended his last school board meeting for this lifetime.
