Pepsi Have Withdrawn Their Sponsorship From Wireless Festival Following News That Kanye West Will Headline
Pepsi has officially withdrawn its sponsorship of this summer’s Wireless Festival in London after the festival announced Kanye West as the headliner for all three nights.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer, London Mayor Sadiq Khan, and the Jewish Leadership Council, have all condemned the booking due to West’s history of antisemitic remarks and pro-Nazi messaging.
Now, in fairness to Ye, he has since apologised for those remarks and put it all down to a manic four-month episode he was having. He even removed his track ‘Heil Hilter’ from streaming platforms! Regardless, it seems certain groups are still holding the whole saga against him.
For what it’s worth, PepsiCo acquired SodaStream, an Israeli-based company known for its home seltzer machines, in 2018 for $3.2 billion.
A Pepsi spokesperson confirmed the decision on Sunday, stating simply: “Pepsi has decided to withdraw its sponsorship of Wireless Festival”.
Pepsi Max had been the festival’s “headline partner” since 2015, with the event officially marketed as “Pepsi MAX Presents Wireless”.
The withdrawal is a significant blow to the organisers, with Pepsi branding usually prominent across the entire festival. Other listed partners including PayPal, Rockstar Energy Drink, and Budweiser have faced similar calls to reconsider their involvement.
It remains to be seen whether further sponsors drop out or whether Wireless pull Kanye West from the event. The latter outcome would be disappointing because there’s probably no bigger name that could headline Wireless this year than Kanye West. Say what you want about the guy but he does have a lot of bangers and star power and puts on a hell of a show.
Besides, everyone prefers Coca Cola, don’t they?
The 2026 Wireless Festival will take place from July 10 – 12, 2026, at Finsbury Park in London, UK.
