U.S. Asks Iran To Treat Missing American Pilot According To ‘Humanitarian Law’

The U.S. has urged Iran to treat their missing American pilot in accordance with international humanitarian law following the downing of a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle over Iran this week.

One crew member has already been rescued by U.S. special forces. However, the second crew member remains MIA.

The U.S. requested a 48-hour ceasefire with Iran in order to assist with their efforts in finding the missing serviceman, but Iran refused. Can you blame them?

A U.S. senator speaking on CNN emphasized that if the missing airman is captured, Iran must follow international laws governing the treatment of prisoners of war.

It’s worth remembering that America has been bombing Iran’s schools, hospitals and civilian homes and have been violating every international humanitarian law in existence in the process. Now the U.S. wants them to a) agree to a ceasefire and b) abide by humanitarian laws should they find the pilot first? Haven’t exactly put themselves in the best position to be making those sorts of requests, have they?

Iranian state media has offered a “precious prize” or reward – reported to be approximately 10 billion tomans (£50,000) – to any local resident who captures the “enemy pilot” alive and hands them over to the police.

We all hope the conflict is over soon, but you have to say – this whole sorry mess is entirely the U.S.’s doing. If only Trump had the balls to say no to Israel eh?

Meanwhile, Keir Starmer’s popularity has increased after he refused to join the war. Who would have thought?
