42-Year-Old Aspiring Rapper Jailed For 10 Years After XL Bully Fatally Attacked His Mum-In-Law

An aspiring rapper has been jailed for 10 years and 3 months after he was found guilty of owning one of two XL bully dogs that mauled his mother-in-law to death.

Ashley Warren AKA Wyless Man, 42, had asked Esther Martin, 68, to mind two XL bully dogs at his home in Jaywick, Essex, so he could travel to London to film a music video.

The two dogs ended up killing Ms Martin in 12-minute attack – just two days after the XL Bully ban came into force on February 1 2024.

The court heard that the dogs had not been walked for four weeks prior to the attack and were kept in “impoverished” conditions.

Warren was convicted of owning a dog – named Bear – that was dangerously out of control causing death. He was also sentenced for possession of a knife found upon his arrest, which he claimed was a ‘prop’ for the aforementioned music video.

Warren had previously written on social media: “don’t tell me what to do with my f dogs”, and boasted about breeding the animals, which he sold for £500-a-puppy on Facebook. However, since the tragic accident, he has said he fully backs the XL Bully ban.

I guess if there’s one thing that will change your perspective on the XL Bully ban, it’s having them maul your mum-in-law to death in your own home. I don’t doubt that this guy feels pain and remorse at the fact this happened, but I’ve got the feeling he wasn’t exactly the ideal candidate to keep XL Bully dogs in the first place.

How many more Wyless Men are there out there who are breeding these dogs and selling them on to likeminded individuals who have no business owning dangerous dogs?

Aside from the 10-year sentence, Warren has also been banned from owning dogs for life. Probably for the best.
