Teenagers Guilty Of Killing Man After Luring Him To Beach And Throwing Rocks At Him
Two teenagers have been convicted of killing a man after luring him to a beach and beating him to death with rocks while calling him a ‘f***ing paedophile’.
A girl, 16, and a 15-year-old boy were convicted of the manslaughter of Alexander Cashford, 49, following the assault in Leysdown-on-Sea in the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, on August 10 last year.
Another 16-year-old male had previously pleaded guilty to a secondary charge of manslaughter.

In case you missed our previous blogs on this case, here’s what happened: Cashford, 49, had met his killers at the Playtime Arcade in Leysdown-on-Sea, Kent, on August 8 last year, where he gave the girl his business card.
The older boy saved it in his phone under ‘Pedo’ and exchanged texts with him over the next two days, with Cashford believing he was texting a girl named Sienna.
The first text sent from ‘Sienna’ read: ‘Hi it’s the girl from the arcade but to let you know I am 16 if u care about that kind of thing.’
Cashford replied: ‘Whats’ your name? You’re rely pretty.’
Cashford claimed to be 30, knocking 19 years of his age, then asked her if she liked champagne and said he wanted to kiss her.
‘Sienna’ suggested they meet at her empty parents’ home and told him to bring alcohol.
He travelled to meet the 16-year-old female defendant at around 7pm on August 10 at the seafront, with the two boys following from a distance.
The older boy snuck up behind Cashford and hit him on the back of the head with a bottle.
Witnesses saw Cashford lying lifeless in the mud while the teenagers threw rocks at his head and body.
In footage played to the court, the girl, who is filming, can be heard shouting: ‘F***ing paedophile, I’m f***ing 16, get him’.
A post-mortem showed he had injuries to his face and head, bruises on his limbs and body, and multiple fractured ribs that had punctured his lung.
It was also found the older boy had shared footage of the attack/murder with three other people on WhatsApp, using the caption: ‘f****d a pedo up lol’.
In court, it was not disputed that the assault and chase led to his death, but it was found that Cashford had underlying cardiac issues following a heart attack in 2017 that may have exacerbated the effects of the attack.
The teenagers were acquitted of murder at Woolwich Crown Court today, and will be sentenced for the manslaughter convictions at a later date.
