Joey Barton’s Tweet About Giving Football Fans A Bit Of ‘Rest Bite’ Prompts Viral Reaction
Shout out to The Poke for this one. No one ever accused Joey Barton of being the sharpest tool in the shed, but it’s still pretty shocking to see him make what might be one of the most bizarre grammar c0ck-ups of all time on X the other day.
Barton, 43, was responding to a Tweet from a disgruntled Bristol Rovers fan (a team he managed from 2021 – 23), when he wrote this:

Incredible. Now obviously it’s not nice to mock people over their spelling/grammar fails. Maybe Joey Barton was probably absent from school on the day they taught the word “respite.”
Still, when you give it out as harshly as Barton does, you’ve got to expect a digital @rse-whooping from the grammar police any time you say “rest bite” instead of “respite”:

Fair play to Joey – he’s left the Tweet up and the insults are still rolling in, though it’s also possible he still hasn’t worked out what the issue is.
He does have bigger dramas to contend with, to be fair.
