GTA 6 Maker Rockstar North’s HQ Sealed Off After It’s Rocked By ‘Explosion’
We could be looking at yet another delay for GTA 6 after the offices of Rockstar Games in Edinburgh were rocked by an ‘explosion in the boiler room’ early this morning.
The offices of the Rockstar North building suffered ‘structural damage’ but thankfully no one was hurt, perhaps because it happened so early in the morning.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was alerted to the incident at around 5:02 am on January 19, reports Dexerto.

In a follow-up statement, SFRS said, “Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene, where firefighters worked to secure structural damage at a commercial building.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 9:21 am.”
Well hopefully the team behind GTA 6 were able to crack on after that because the last thing we all need is another reason to delay GTA 6. Can you imagine if any of the work they had done on GTA 6 was destroyed by the explosion? I mean, I’m sure they’ve got everything backed up, but you never know.
Grand Theft Auto 6 has already been delayed multiple times; first by COVID, then by gameplay leaks, then following the mass dismissal of 30 employees which led to protests and ongoing legal battles. The current release date is November 2026 – but is anyone really confident they’ll stick to that?
One guy who won’t be too bothered either way is the terminally-ill gamer who Rockstar recently agreed to grant early access to the game.
Unfortunately he’ll have to sign an NDA and won’t be able to tell the rest of us about it. Although come to think of, what’s stopping him?
