Johnny Knoxville Has To Limit His Jackass 5 Stunts After Suffering Traumatic Brain Injury On The Last Movie

Johnny Knoxville has confessed that he absolutely cannot get hit in the head while filming Jackass 5, having already maxed out his concussion/head injury allowance some time ago.

Knoxville, 54, told Variety: “I can’t do anything where I can get another concussion. [I’m] way over my limit for concussions, but I don’t care about anything else. I just can’t get hit in the head anymore — but a lot of other guys can.”

You may remember in Jackass 4 back in 2022; Knoxville got absolutely obliterated by a bull and got flipped in the air and landed on his head. This resulted in a brain hemorrhage, concussion, broken wrist and broken rib, and also caused him cognitive issues and depression for months.

In fact we may as well run down the full list of injuries Johnny Knoxville has sustained in 25 years of destroying his body for our entertainment:

  • Brain hemorrhage, concussion, broken wrist, and ribs, cognitive issues, depression: the aforementioned bull stunt in Jackass Forever.
  • Herniated disc & back issues: A stunt in Jackass 2 led to a herniated disc, causing his back to seize up and forcing him to fall.
  • Broken nose & loss of smell/taste: Repeated nasal fractures compromised his senses.
  • Eye Injury: After a fall on an alpine slide, a facial bone powdered; he later had his eye pop out when he blew his nose or sneezed.
  • Severe vertigo: A hit from Butterbean caused intense vertigo, making the room spin.
  • Torn urethra (ouch) & tendon.
  • Cognitive decline: Depression, difficulty focusing, and memory issues.
  • Physical limitations: Vertigo, balance problems.

Overall, the guy has sustained dozens of concussions, so risking even just one more would be incredibly foolish at this stage of his life. Fair play to the guy – not once did he ever cherry pick the “easier” stunts to involve himself in. In fact he took the worst ones head on.

Come to think of it – the fact that Johnny Knoxville is even still alive is a miracle in itself. Absolute legend of the game. Can’t wait for Jackass 5 to drop in June 2026 – let’s hope no one gets too hurt in the process.

Meanwhile, Bam Margera has ripped into the entire Jackass cast while explaining that he won’t be filming any new stunts for the new movie. Fair enough really.
