Elon Musk Posts AI Picture Of Keir Starmer In A Bikini And Says X Critics Just Want ‘Censorship’

There’s a lot of talk about Keir Starmer banning X (formerly known as Twitter) in the UK, following controversy around X’s AI chatbot, Grok, being used to generate non-consensual sexualised deepfake images of women and children.

Just the other day, one user instructed Grok to generate an image of Renee Good in a bikini after she had been shot dead by an ICE agent in her car.

Grok complied with the request, later confirming in its own logs that it had “undressed the recently killed woman” and that the generation “used sensitive content unintentionally”.

Since then, Keir Starmer has said he will leave ‘all options’ open in response to the backlash to Grok/X, including banning the social media platform outright in the X.

The Prime Minister called the AI-generated imagery “disgraceful” and “disgusting,” stating that X must “get a grip” on the issue.

As usual, Elon Musk has responded to this in the most mature and dignified way possible – using Grok to put Keir Starmer in a bikini and accusing him of trying to suppress free speech:

Now I think we can all agree that it’s a little messed up that someone can just take a photo of you (or your mum or you sister) and say ‘Grok – make her naked/put her in a bikini’ and Grok will instantly blast that out onto the internet where it will remain forever, so it’s probably sensible that something be done about it.

There’s a lot you can point to in Britain under Keir Starmer’s leadership that certain is an attempt to suppress free speech, but asking Elon Musk to sort out the Grok issue on X? I’m not quite sure that falls under the ‘trying to suppress free speech’ category.

In fairness to X, they have now restricted the ability to have Grok generate/edit images to paying subscribers only, but I’m not sure that solves the problem overall.

Ofcom is investigating X’s compliance with the Online Safety Act – we’ll have to wait and see how it plays out.
