You have to be an absolute moron to escalate a situation of petty theft to an attempted murder charge, but this numpty has managed it after attempting to shoot a police officer who had apprehended him for suspected shoplifting at a Walmart in Ohio.
Fortunately, the gun jammed and a tragedy was averted:
Hard to think of a dumber way to go prison than attempting to murder a police officer after you just got caught shoplifting at a Walmart, only to have your gun jam and then eat a wicked flying knee to the face. It’s so stupid that it might actually be amusing if he wasn’t literally trying to murder a man at point blank range. He really went for it too – you can hear him pull the trigger.
21-year-old Shane Newman is now looking at an extremely lengthy spell in prison. He also had 50 ecstasy pills in his pocket and his 23-year-old girlfriend Katerina Jeffrey had two rounds of 9mm ammunition in hers.
Big ups to the Walmart ‘loss prevention officer’ who got involved too; diving in to wrestle the gun away from Newman after he processed what was happening. Doubt he ever had to deal with a situation like that before working at Walmart. Great instincts!
