Shocking Letter Paedophile Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins Sent To Fiancée Day Before He Died In Prison

It turns out disgraced paedophile singer Ian Wakins had a secret fiancée who he was sending letters to from prison before his murder the other week, and The Sun (who else?) have now managed to get their hands on them.

The Lostprophets singer, 48, was jailed for 35 years in 2013 after a string of sickening sexual offences against children, but still managed to forge a relationship from behind bars with an obsessed fan named Ellie, 30, from Halifax, West Yorkshire.

Watkins had sent Ellie a love letter that arrived at her home on the day he died, which read: “Duchess. Didn’t think I’d forget your birthday did you. They won’t keep us apart forever. Your Duke. IW.”

Welp, turns out they will be kept apart forever, though I guess that would have been the case whether Watkins was murdered or not.

In other letters, Watkins shed some light on his prison experiences, which were unsurprisingly horrific given the nature of his crimes and how unpopular he was at the notorious Wakefield  in West Yorkshire.

Watkins died earlier this month in HMP Wakefield (PA/South Wales Police)

In one letter, Watkins revealed details about a previous attempt to murder him in 2023, when he was held hostage for six hours by three inmates who stabbed him.

He wrote: “The whole incident with me was crazy. Stabbed in the neck eight times. Almost died, was touch and go.

“I had bleeds on the brain and have permanent spinal nerve damage. The weapon went in so far it hit my spine in my neck and scrambled all the nerves.”

Watkins added: “Thankfully I’m still really hot. Someone on the wing said I look like Grindelwald the other day from Fantastic Beasts. So whenever I get compared to Johnny Depp it’s always a good day, haha.”

Well, at least he had a sense of humour about the whole thing eh? Although he must have known deep down that the day would come when he would sustain injuries that were simply too traumatic too recover from.

Sure enough, that day came on Saturday, October 11 at the hands of fellow inmates Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43, who have since been charged with Watkins’ murder.

In fact, Watkins pretty much foretold his death in another letter, writing: “I hate the weekends in here cause we are unlocked all day so you never know what’s going to happen.

“That sh*t happens to me on a weekend, out of nowhere, so I always have that in the back of my head.”

Heartbroken Ellie and Watkins had been ‘dating’ for 10 years, and she had actually met him backstage at a gig in 2010… when she was 15.

The disgraced singer reportedly compared himself to Johnny Depp in one letter to his alleged 'fiancée' Ellie (Pier Marco Tacca/WireImage)

He ended up proposing to her after telling her to buy an engagement ring and naturally she said ‘yes’.

She admitted: “He had a hold over me. I tried multiple times to move on, but it never worked. I couldn’t ever drop the thought of him.”

On the final letter she received from him on the day he died: “That was the very last contact I had with him and probably the last message he ever sent.

“I was so excited to get it, but a day later he was dead. I had no idea. I just fell on the floor. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t speak. I was inconsolable.”

Poor girl. There’s loads more content from the letters he sent Ellie over at the original article if you want to have a look, but it’s basically just Watkins asking her to send him sexy photos and whatnot.

Ellie also mentions that she knows there were dozens of other girls messaging him back and forth from prison, but I guess that didn’t put her off. Pretty crazy that he had a hold on so many young women even from behind bars, and years after the rest of us forgot about him. Fortunately, he won’t be able to control, manipulate or abuse anyone any more.
